100-day challenge week three

So far this has been an amazing experience. I haven't had any weight loss yet, but I know I am getting stronger. It has been so helpful for me to have exercises that fit my limits (I have RA) and have someone to show me how to do them when I forget. Counting calories is probably the hardest for me to figure out and of course adding more vegetables to my diet.

  1. Vegetables are hard for everyone but a food salad always helps me. It will be fun to hear how you keep getting stronger - Janet Frank

  2. I hear you...adding more vegetables to my daily routine was also difficult until I discovered the simple use of a steamer.
I bought a steamer - I think it was $25. I now buy vegetables, cut them and place them in ziplock bags (sandwich size). At night, I place a bag of vegetables in the steamer and choose a meat to go with them. Having the veggies cut and bagged in advance has helped me eat more veggies. I also bought some butter spray for flavor and minimal calories when compared to regular margarine. Good luck. Maria Black

  3. Joann, Congratulations on your choice to participate in the 100 day heart health challenge. I remember thinking when I first started the challenge I wouldn't be able to exercise as long and as hard as was expected of me, and now one year later it has become such a part of my lifestyle I feel lost and grumpy when I skip a day. These are such wonderful changes to make, you will do good, I am sure.
